This solution then gives the added advantage of easy removal for inspection, services, alterations and any number of other reasons for wanting to lift and relay the promenade slabs.
The 300 x 300 range is also ideal for areas where a light weight and/or low threshold level solution is required.

The 450 x 450 range of Promenade Slabs are manufactured and tested in accordance with BS EN1339 which covers paved areas and roof coverings. This ensures consistency of product and gives confidence that the product will be strong, durable and slip resistant.
Self weight of the 450 x 450 range is 80Kg /M2 for the 38mm thick and 105Kg/M2 for the 50mm thick but at 16Kg for the 38mm thick and 21Kg for the 50mm thick they are all within the 25kg recommended lifting limit advised by the HSE.
Rubber Promenade Tiles
When using Rubber Promenade Tiles on asphalt our specially formulated Castle XP 2435 PU Adhesive must be used as the fixing method.
As our rubber tiles are flexible they are easy to lay and any minor undulations in the asphalt can be taken up with the tile.
Rubber tiles must be laid with a 3mm gap between each tile and around the outside of the layout to allow for drainage and thermal expansion.
We recommend the use of our rubber tiles on low to medium trafficked areas as they do wear more than our GRC range of products.
Instructions for PU Adhesive are available online or on the label of every bottle of Castle PU Adhesive.
If you have further questions in relation to our products when used on asphalt please feel free to contact us via phone or email and we will be happy to help.
