Castlflex rubber tiles installed to great effect

Installation, News & Case Studies

This recently completed installation of sand coloured Castleflex rubber tiles has provided a high quality, slip resistant finish for the end user.

The tiles also protect the waterproofing membrane which extends the lifespan of the roof.

Protects from:

  • UV Degradation
  • Damage from tables & chairs
  • Damage from foot traffic
  • Damage from ladders when maintaining surrounding areas

Our rubber tiles are porous with drainage channels on the underside meaning the rain water can flow through the tiles and also underneath to the drainage outlets as the roof was designed.

As shown in the pictures the tiles are laid in a brick bond style with interlocking pins. This method provides increased stability for thermal movement and wind uplift as the tiles are connected together forming one large mat.

Where possible the tiles should be laid tight to an up stand for restraint. Any sides of the layout that do not have an up stand can be bonded to the surface below using our specially formulated PU adhesive. Our adhesive has no solvents or fillers which is preferred when using with waterproofing membranes.

Our rubber tiles have also been tested for slip resistance giving a result in the low potential for slip category as per the pendulum test method.
